Convert FLAC to MP3
Upload a FLAC file and get an MP3 that plays everywhere. FLAC is lossless, so nothing is lost on the way in; the MP3 encoder decides what goes. MP3 is lossy; at 192 kbps or more the loss is hard to hear, and 320 kbps is the ceiling.
How it works
- Choose the FLAC file (up to 500 MB and 3 hours).
- Pick a bitrate and, if you need it, a sample rate. The defaults suit speech and music alike.
- Download the MP3. It is deleted from the server after 60 minutes.
Questions
Is quality lost?
Your source is lossless and MP3 is not, so this is the one step where detail goes; pick 256 or 320 kbps to keep the difference small.
What happens to my file?
It is uploaded to our server, processed there, and both the upload and the result are deleted automatically 60 minutes after the job started. Nothing is kept, nothing is used for anything else, and nobody looks at it.
What are the limits?
Files up to 500 MB and 3 hours long. One job runs at a time on the server, so at busy moments yours may wait a little.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.
