Convert MP3 to FLAC
Upload an MP3 and get a FLAC file. FLAC is lossless and about half the size of WAV. An MP3 turned into FLAC stays MP3 quality inside a lossless container; it helps when a tool demands FLAC, not for improving the sound.
How it works
- Choose the MP3 file (up to 500 MB and 3 hours).
- Pick a sample rate if you need a specific one; otherwise the original is kept.
- Download the FLAC. It is deleted from the server after 60 minutes.
Questions
Is quality lost?
Nothing more is lost, but nothing comes back either: FLAC is lossless, and it faithfully stores the MP3's sound, including what the MP3 encoder already removed.
What happens to my file?
It is uploaded to our server, processed there, and both the upload and the result are deleted automatically 60 minutes after the job started. Nothing is kept, nothing is used for anything else, and nobody looks at it.
What are the limits?
Files up to 500 MB and 3 hours long. One job runs at a time on the server, so at busy moments yours may wait a little.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.
